Girls On The Run Greater Boston Spring Season Celebratory 5K
The Girls On The Run Greater Boston Celebratory 5K is a seasonal closing event held at Boston Common. This run marks the completion of the program season and brings together over 200 teams from across the Greater Boston area. The event is open to participants of all abilities and takes place rain or shine.
The event structure includes several participant categories:
- 5K Buddy: Individuals aged 16 or older who run or walk alongside a program participant to provide motivation and safety.
- Community Runner: Members of the general public or additional supporters who wish to participate in the race.
- Girls Registration: Reserved for active program participants.
- Coach Registration: Reserved for program mentors and leaders.
Participants who complete the 5K course receive a commemorative medal. Program participants and coaches are automatically registered, while 5K Buddies and Community Runners must register separately to receive a bib and t-shirt. Early packet pick-up is typically available in the days leading up to the race at locations such as Dedham or Medford. On the day of the event, a registration tent is available at Boston Common for item collection. The schedule includes a pre-race program followed by the main run.
