Girls on the Run Greater Boston 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Greater Boston holds a seasonal celebratory 5K at Boston Common on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The event closes the program season and provides participants a tangible sense of accomplishment through completing the course. The 5K course is 3.1 miles. The event is presented as noncompetitive; while the fastest participants may finish in about 25 minutes, most finish between 30 and 50 minutes. Participants are encouraged to walk, roll, push, run or skip at their own pace.
The council brings together more than 200 teams from across Greater Boston. Program participants and coaches are already registered for the 5K and receive a commemorative medal when they cross the finish line. Registered 5K buddies and volunteers receive a Girls on the Run 5K T-shirt. Designated parking spots are available and the course is accessible for people with disabilities.
Community registration options and fees listed by the council include a Pre-Race 5K Buddy rate of $35, a Community Runner rate of $50, and a Day-of-Event rate of $50 for 5K Buddies and Community Runners. The council offers volunteer roles for event setup, course and traffic control, registration, merchandise, spirit activities, water stops, finish line support and post-event breakdown.
