Girls on the Run Delaware Northern 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Delaware Fall 2026 5K Celebration is scheduled for Sunday, November 22, 2026 at Del Tech, Terry Campus in Dover, DE. The event closes the season and is designed to give program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment through completing a community 5K.
The course distance is 3.1 miles. The event is presented as a noncompetitive, celebratory experience in which participants may walk, run, roll, push or skip at their own pace. Every program participant receives a commemorative medal. Family, friends and community members may participate but must register; waivers are required for all registrants. Registration fees listed for the event are $25 for participants aged nine and above and $5 for participants aged eight and under. Program participants and coaches have already been registered through the council and do not need additional registration.
Safety and accessibility provisions include required race bibs, assignment of a running buddy to complete the course alongside each program participant, course monitoring, a documented safety plan and designated accessible parking. Volunteer roles include set-up and break down, registration, course marshals, water stations, cheer stations and festivities, and volunteers appointed through the council undergo background checks. The celebration also includes music, dancing, happy hair stations and merchandise for sale, with local and national partners supporting the event.
