About the race
Girls on the Run Chippewa Valley holds a community celebratory 5K run, walk, roll on May 8, 2027 at Carson Park in Eau Claire, WI. The event closes the season and gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The course length is 3.1 miles.
Program participants and coaches are pre-registered for the 5K; community members, family and friends may register separately. Registration fees are listed for adults and teens 13 and older at $35 and youth 12 and younger at $20. All registrations include a liability waiver. Every registered participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal.
Every participant must have a 5K Buddy for safety and support. 5K Buddies must be at least 16 years old and be able to complete the full course. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervision of participants before, during and after the event.
The council provides safety measures including race bibs, course monitoring, head counts and a planned emergency response with trained staff and volunteers. The course is accessible to walkers and people using mobility devices, and designated parking is available.
Event activities include face painting, happy hair, bling your bib, water stations, cheer stations and merchandise for sale. Volunteers support set up, registration, course marshaling, running buddies, water and cheer stations, and other event roles; volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check.
