xox-EAU 5K : Eau Claire Marathon
The xox-EAU 5K is presented as a community fun run held at River Prairie Park with the start and finish near 44 North Gastropub (1488 Front Porch Place, Altoona, WI 54720). The event course includes a food stop at each mile where participants are offered a Holy Donut.
Organizers note that the donuts are not gluten free and are fried in peanut oil; the donuts themselves do not contain nuts but the frying oil may be a concern for people with severe peanut allergies. Dogs are not allowed on course because of the donuts. Strollers are permitted; children riding in strollers do not need separate registration unless they want race swag, a donut, or a medal.
Packet pick up is scheduled the week of the race at the Eau Claire Marathon storage unit (323 N Dewey Street, Eau Claire) and on race morning at 44 North Gastropub. The xox-EAU 5K is described as a FUN RUN with no official finish times recorded; participants may track their own times if they wish. Race day registration is available if space allows.
