xox-EAU 5K
The xox-EAU 5K is a recreational fun run held in River Prairie Park, starting at the 44 North Gastropub in Altoona, Wisconsin. Part of the Eau Claire Marathon 5K Race Series, this event takes place during the winter season and focuses on community participation rather than competition.
Participants follow a course that features a donut station at every mile. These donuts are provided by Holy Donuts and are fried in peanut oil. While the race does not provide official finish times or professional timing services, runners are welcome to track their own progress using personal watches.
The event is designed to be inclusive for families:
- 5 km run or walk
Strollers are permitted on the course. While there is no separate race for children, they may be registered individually if they wish to receive participation items. Due to the presence of food on the course, dogs are not allowed at this specific event.
The race environment is casual, and participants are encouraged to pause at each mile. Following the run, a post-race gathering is held at 44 North Gastropub where food and drinks are available. Packet pick-up is available both during the race week at the ECM storage unit in Eau Claire and on the morning of the event at the gastropub.
