Girls on the Run Berks 5K Celebration
The event is a seasonal closing 5K held on November 7, 2026 at Berks Heritage Center in Reading, PA. It serves as the end-of-season celebration for Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole program participants and gives them a tangible sense of accomplishment. The course length is 5K (3.1 miles).
GOTR and Heart & Sole participants receive commemorative medals upon completing the 5K. GOTR participants get bibs from their coaches in the Team Zone; Community Runners pick up bibs and shirts at packet pick-up in the Visitor's Barn. Community members must register online as Community Runners to participate.
Event logistics include free parking at Penn State Berks, a water station on course, and water and snacks at the finish line. The event is rain or shine. The course is accessible for people with disabilities and designated parking spots are available.
Safety measures require all participants to wear a race bib. Course marshals are stationed along the route and a safety plan guides staff and volunteer response to incidents. A 5K Buddy is an individual who completes the full course alongside a program participant; volunteer 5K Buddies must provide required Pennsylvania clearances and background checks.
