5K Celebration - Confidence through Accomplishment
The Girls on the Run Berks 5K Celebration is a season-closing, non-competitive 5K on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Berks Heritage Center in Reading, PA. The event closes each program season and is designed to give participants a tangible sense of accomplishment.
The course is 5K (3.1 miles) and is presented as an inclusive event: participants may walk, run, push, or roll at their own pace. Every Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal. Community runners and designated 5K Buddies may register; registrants who meet the shirt deadline are guaranteed a t-shirt. Volunteer 5K Buddies are sometimes available subject to required background checks.
Event logistics include an accessible course, designated parking at Penn State Berks, course marshals along the route, a safety plan for incidents, one water station on course, and water and snacks at the finish area. All participants must wear the race bib provided by the council. The celebration is held rain or shine.
Registration pricing is tiered: Early-Bird $30, Standard $35, Last Chance $45, with in-person event-day registration available. Girls enrolled in the Girls on the Run or Heart & Sole programs do not need to register separately for the 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
