Girlfriends Run for a Cure
Girlfriends Run is a women-focused running and walking event held at Vancouver Waterfront Park on October 18, 2026. The event offers multiple distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 6K
The event benefits the Pink Lemonade Project; the organizer notes that the charity relies on direct donations rather than registration fees. Race-day perks described by the organizer include women’s technical shirts, finisher medals or necklaces, post-race refreshments such as mimosas and pastries, pampering stations, massage, and other finish-area amenities.
Packet pickup is provided at a local running store and on race morning at the waterfront location. Participants must show identification to collect packets and may pick up a packet for another person only with a signed authorization form and a copy of that person’s ID. A bag check is available at the registration booth; bib numbers should be marked on bags and shown when reclaiming items.
Awards are presented for top overall and masters finishers, plus age-group awards for women across many age brackets. Walkers are not eligible for competitive awards, and participants choosing the Athena category are not eligible for age-group prizes. The organizer lists official course records with times by year.
Course notes and policies include a high number of portable toilets at start and along the route, bathroom access at Warehouse 23, guidance on jogging strollers starting at the back due to narrow out-and-back sections, a one-earbud music policy for safety, and a limit of service dogs only on course.
