ORRC Turkey Trot at The Zoo
The ORRC Turkey Trot at The Oregon Zoo is a community running event held at the zoo grounds and surrounding roads. The main road course runs out from the Forestry Center area toward the International Rose Garden and finishes inside the zoo at Elephant Plaza. The event uses a start area near the zoo parking lot and the Western Forestry Center on SW Knights Boulevard.
The event includes a 5K open to runners and walkers plus short children's races at Elephant Plaza for ages 0 to 4 and ages 5 to 10. All entrants in the 5K and the youth races receive a beanie hat and a chocolate turkey, and medals are provided for finishers. There will be no shirts this year.
Registration opens May 24, 2026 and has a registration deadline of November 19, 2026. Registration for non-ORRC members is capped at 2,200 participants; ORRC members are not subject to that cap. There is no day-of-race registration. Child entries include one free adult zoo admission; additional accompanying persons must purchase an additional ticket. Zoo membership does not permit entry because the zoo is closed to the public except for race entrants. Additional ticket options are available for non-runners.
Approximately $25,000 of registration fees benefit The Oregon Zoo. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
