Turkey Trot at the Zoo
The Turkey Trot at the Zoo is a community 5 km run and walk held at the Oregon Zoo on November 26, 2026. The course departs from the zoo, follows Kingston Drive toward the International Rose Garden, and returns to finish inside the zoo at the Elephant Plaza. The route includes notable hills; participants should expect a hilly course.
The event includes two children’s races: a Tot Trot for ages 0 to 4 and the Gobble Gallop for ages 5 to 10. Participants in the 5K and kids events receive a beanie and a chocolate turkey; children also receive a commemorative ribbon and goodies. At the finish area there will be fruit, water, donuts, and a bagel bar. A raffle will award 150 large pumpkin pies to registrants at random.
Registration is limited to 2,200 participants; ORRC members may register if the limit is reached. There is no day-of registration. Registration opens June 11, 2026. Approximately $25,000 of registration fees benefit the Oregon Zoo. Long-sleeved event T-shirts are available for purchase during registration with an order deadline of November 1.
Organizers do not provide aid stations and the zoo concession stands will be closed. Parking at the zoo is limited and metered; public transportation is strongly encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
