Oregon Turkeython
Oregon Turkeython is a Thanksgiving morning running event held November 26, 2026, at Cook Park in Tigard. The event includes a chip-timed 5K and untimed kids races on a short loop inside the park.
- 5K - chip timed 5-kilometer race
- Kids races - untimed, about 1/4 mile loop
The 5K uses chip timing; participants are asked to wear their bib on the chest for accurate timing and photos. All 5K finishers receive a Turkeython finishers medal.
Kids races are split into two age groups (0–7 years and 8+ years). Parents are encouraged to run with their children. The kids course finishes at the same finish arch as the 5K. A kids coloring contest runs in conjunction with the event; coloring pages may be turned in at bib pickup or at the finish area before the kids races, and entries should include the child’s name. The contest prize is a Costco pumpkin pie.
Logistics information includes parking suggestions to help with park capacity: carpooling is encouraged, and participants may park at Tualatin City Park or Tigard High School and walk or jog to Cook Park. Bib pickup is available on a pre-event pickup day at 7800 SW Durham Rd, Ste #600 (back roll-up door), and also on race morning at Cook Park.
Registration pricing varies by date: $33 before 9/1; $35 before 9/30; $38 before 10/31; $40 before 11/20; $45 on and after 11/20. Kidathons are free. A family rate provides a $3 discount for each participant when registering two or more participants in the same transaction; no discount is available on the day of the event.
