About the race
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County Thin Mint Sprint combines a timed 5K and a 1 Mile family walk on the Jones Beach grounds in Wantagh, NY. The event includes race services and amenities for participants and families, and proceeds support financial assistance so girls can participate in Girl Scouting by helping cover membership fees, uniforms, books, badges, and supplies.

Registered 5K participants receive an event t-shirt, a finisher medal, a box of Girl Scout Cookies, personalized bibs if registration occurs three weeks in advance, live/text/email results, and free finish line photos. 1 Mile participants receive an event t-shirt, an event patch, and a box of Girl Scout Cookies.
Awards are given for the top three overall male and female finishers and for top three male and female finishers in age groups including 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Bib pickup is available the morning of the event; participants who register in advance may receive mailed bibs and last-minute registrants receive bib numbers by text.
The venue charges a per-car parking fee at Jones Beach State Park Parking Field 1. Virtual participants can upload times and photos during the event window and may use track laps, treadmill, MapMyRun, certified courses, or apps such as Strava to track distance.
