Event Overview
The Gillham Road GobbleTrot is a 5K run/walk held on Thanksgiving Day. This is the fifteenth annual event. It takes place in the Hyde Park area of Kansas City, with the start and finish located just north of Pilgrim Chapel at 3801 Gillham Road. The event offers in-person and virtual participation options. Proceeds benefit the Community Programs of the Pilgrim Center.
Course and Timing
The course follows Gillham Road, goes through the Hyde Park neighborhood, and passes Hyde Park. The USATF has certified the course. All in-person 5K participants are chip-timed.
Participation Details
The event includes multiple activities:
- 5K (in-person and virtual)
- Children's Dash for kids 8 & under (in-person and virtual)
The Children's Dash takes place after the 5K. It has divisions for ages 4 & under, 5-6, and 7-8, with distances of 100 or 200 yards. In-person 5K participants receive a long-sleeve T-shirt, though availability is not guaranteed for registrations after November 12. Children's Dash participants also receive a T-shirt with the same condition.
Awards are given for first, second, and third place in each age division. There are also awards for Male and Female Masters categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
