Giants Head Run
The Giant's Head Run has been a community staple in Summerland, British Columbia, since 1982. This event offers participants the choice between two road distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The race utilizes chip timing to provide accurate results for all competitors. Participants have access to an interactive mapping application that displays the specific routes, direction of travel, aid station locations, and elevation profiles. On-site facilities include change rooms and showers available at the Summerland Aquatic & Fitness Centre.
Several amenities are provided to those taking part in the event. Post-race refreshments and snacks are served to runners, and commemorative ribbons are awarded to all children aged 7 and under. Additionally, event t-shirts are guaranteed for the first 450 registered competitors.
The event features a variety of activities beyond the run itself. A family fun zone with inflatables and games is available pre-, during, and post-run, along with a photo booth. The organization also provides cheer kits for community members living along the race route to support the runners. Over $2,500 in draw prizes are distributed as part of the event festivities.
