Event overview
Sky to Summit is a trail race held October 24-25, 2026 in Sky Valley, Georgia. The event includes two distances and both races start and finish at Sky Valley. The course runs through the surrounding mountains and passes waterfalls, reaches Rabun Bald (the second highest point in Georgia), and offers long stretches of trail with fall foliage and views spanning three states.

The 50K has about 7,500 ft of elevation gain and an 11 hour cutoff. The 25K has about 3,500 ft of elevation gain with a 5.5 hour cutoff; the organizer notes the 25K requires running downhill rather than hiking. The 50K is scheduled for Saturday and the 25K for Sunday.
Race services, fees, and policies
Finisher items: 50K finishers receive a medal, pint glass, hat, free photos, and a post-race meal. 25K finishers receive a medal and a hat. To be guaranteed a hat, pint glass, or finisher medal, registration must be completed by September 1.
Early bird pricing: 50K was listed at $135 until July 1 and $145 after. 25K was listed at $105 until July 1 and $115 after. Cancellation policy: no refunds, transfers, or deferments within 90 days of the event; partial or full credit toward another Run Bum Race may apply outside that window. Pregnancy and military order deferrals receive full credit valid for two years.
Organizers report over 3,500 man-hours of trail work on the course and donations to the Blue Ridge Bartram Trail Conservancy. Volunteer opportunities are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
