Event overview
Sky to Summit is a trail race held October 24-25, 2026, in Sky Valley, Georgia. The event offers two distances:
- 50K
- 25K
All races start and finish at Sky Valley. The organizer provides course maps, aid station breakdowns, and a runner handbook with rules and FAQs.
Course and race details
The 50K features approximately 7,500 ft of elevation gain with an 11-hour cutoff. The 25K features approximately 3,500 ft of elevation gain and the same loss, with a 5.5-hour cutoff; the organizer states the 25K is not hiker-friendly and requires running downhill at minimum. The route includes mountain trails around Sky Valley and reaches Rabun Bald, a high point noted on the course. Aid charts and cutoff times are provided for each distance.
Support, gear, and extras
Finishers of the 50K receive a medal, pint glass, hat, free photos, and a post-race meal. 25K finishers receive a medal and a hat. To be guaranteed certain items, registration by September 1 is required. Crew and pacer information is available in the runner handbook.
Registration and stewardship
Early-bird pricing is listed for both distances with rates changing after July 1. A refund and credit policy is published, with varying credit levels depending on cancellation timing and specific deferral provisions. The event supports trail maintenance work and donates to a regional trail conservancy; the organizer reports thousands of man-hours spent on course upkeep.
