Georgia Sky to Summit

Georgia Sky to Summit is a two day trail running event in Sky Valley, Georgia held on October 24 and 25, 2026. The event features mountain trail courses that pass waterfalls and high elevation viewpoints, including a route near Rabun Bald, the second highest point in Georgia. All races start and finish at Sky Valley.

The event offers these distances:

  • 50K 7,500 ft gain 11 hour cutoff
  • 25K 3,500 ft gain 5.5 hour cutoff

The 50K takes place on Saturday and the 25K on Sunday. Finishers in the 50K receive a medal, pint glass, hat, free photos and a post race meal. 25K finishers receive a medal and hat. To be guaranteed specific swag items entrants must be registered by September 1.

Organizers state that the race supports trail maintenance. They report more than 3,500 man hours of trail work on the course and make donations to the Blue Ridge Bartram Trail Conservancy. Volunteer opportunities are offered for event support and trail work.

The event listing includes a refund and deferral policy. Cancellations within 90 days of the event have no refunds transfers or deferments. Outside that window partial or full credit toward another event may be available with specific conditions for pregnancy and military orders.
