Geneva MTR Triathlon
This event takes place on the Seneca Lake waterfront in Geneva, New York. It features two distinct types of races: a Mixed Team Relay (MTR) triathlon and individual Kids Triathlon events.
The Mixed Team Relay Triathlon uses the format introduced at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. It is open to teams of four athletes with exactly two male and two female participants. Each athlete on a team completes the full triathlon course before tagging the next teammate. The order is female-male-female-male.
The course distances for the Mixed Team Relay are a 0.25-mile (300m) swim, a 3.9-mile (5.6km) bike, and a 1.25-mile (2km) run. Team time is used for awards. Awards are given to the overall top three teams and by age groups calculated on the team's average age, grouped by decade. Individuals can also register to be randomly paired into a full team.
For younger athletes, there are two Kids Triathlon options:
- Kids Tri - Short: For ages 6-9. The course is a 100-yard swim, 1.8-mile bike, and 0.5-mile run.
- Kids Tri - Long: For ages 10-12. The course is a 200-yard swim, 3.6-mile bike, and 1.25-mile run.
The bike course for the Mixed Team Relay is described as technical, and road bikes are preferred over aero bikes for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
