Geneva Mixed Team Relay Triathlon
The event is a short-course mixed team relay triathlon held on the Seneca Lake waterfront in Geneva, NY. Teams consist of four mixed-gender athletes: two men and two women. Each team generates a single total time based on the combined efforts of all four teammates.
Race format requires teammates to complete full swim, bike, and run legs one at a time in a fixed order before tagging the next athlete in the designated relay zone. Timing uses the total team time to determine performance awards. Awards include overall top three teams and age-group awards; age grouping is determined from team age.
Distances for each relay leg are approximately:
- Swim: 300 m (330 yards)
- Bike: 3.0 miles (4.8 km)
- Run: 0.6 miles (1 km)
Registration can be completed either as a full team or as an individual. Full-team registration is completed by a team captain who creates the team name, pays the team fee, sets a password, and invites teammates to register with no additional fee. Individual registrants pay a separate fee and are paired at random with others to form a complete four-person mixed team.
Course distances are approximate and may be adjusted for environmental or safety reasons. Road bikes are preferred and aerodynamic positions on bikes are discouraged for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
