General Smallwood Triathlon
The General Smallwood Triathlon takes place at General Smallwood State Park in Marbury, Maryland, with venue address 2750 Sweden Point Rd. The event offers Olympic and Sprint formats plus aquabike and relay options. The swim occurs in Mattawoman Bay. Bike and run courses use rolling, freshly paved, low traffic roads through Charles County. The run course includes aid stations approximately every mile and the final mile re-enters the park and crosses over Mattawoman Bay just before the finish. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon.

- General Smallwood Olympic Triathlon (Individual): 1.5K swim, 24 mile bike, 10K run
- General Smallwood Olympic Aquabike (Individual): 1.5K swim, 24 mile bike
- General Smallwood Olympic Relay: team of 2 or 3, Olympic distances
- General Smallwood Sprint Triathlon (Individual): 750m swim, 16 mile bike, 5K run
- General Smallwood Sprint Aquabike (Individual): 750m swim, 16 mile bike
- General Smallwood Sprint Relay: team of 2 or 3, sprint distances
Swim starts use a time trial format with two athletes starting a few seconds apart; an Elite Box Start is available to position top contenders at the front.
