General Smallwood Triathlon
The General Smallwood Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at General Smallwood State Park, 2750 Sweden Point Rd, Marbury, MD 20658, US. The event is USA Triathlon sanctioned and offers multiple race formats and distances:
- Olympic: 1.5K swim, 24 mile bike, 10K run (open to ages 12+)
- Olympic Aquabike: 1.5K swim, 24 mile bike (open to ages 12+)
- Olympic Relay: team entry for 2 or 3 people (open to ages 12+)
- Sprint: 750m swim, 16 mile bike, 5K run (open to ages 12+)
- Sprint Aquabike: 750m swim, 16 mile bike (open to ages 12+)
- Sprint Relay: team entry for 2 or 3 people (open to ages 9+)
Race details
The swim takes place in Mattawoman Bay. Bike and run courses use rolling, low-traffic roads in Charles County, with aid stations provided approximately every mile on the run course. The final mile returns into the state park and crosses Mattawoman Bay just before the finish. The event uses a time trial swim start, sending two athletes at a time every few seconds, and includes an Elite Box Start option for athletes lining up at the front. Registration includes a finisher medal, long-sleeved tech shirt, custom race socks, packet pickup reusable bag, timed results, age group awards, post-race meal, finisher certificate, and free finish line photos. Participation in multiple Kinetic Multisports events may qualify athletes for Kinetic Cup Series rewards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
