Geaux Wild Ultra
Geaux Wild Ultra is an ultrarunning event held at Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, LA on March 7, 2026. Distances offered include a 100 mile option added for 2026, a 50 mile option, and a 50K option. This is the event second year with updated swag and a new logo.
The course is a 10 mile loop combining the Blue Wing, Koasati, and Whoa Mule trails. There are two aid stations: a main station at the Start/Finish area offering hot food and a variety of trail snacks, and a second unmanned station near mile 5 providing water, snacks, ice, and electrolytes. Trail terrain reflects Louisiana State Park conditions with generally flat ground, minimal elevation, muddy sections, exposed tree roots, and natural trail surfaces.
Lake Bistineau State Park sits on the western shore of the lake and features upland mixed hardwood forest, stands of cypress and tupelo, boat launches, hiking and biking trails, playgrounds, camping, and cabins. The park has nearly 10 miles of woodland trails and an 11 mile canoe trail. Fishing species in the lake include black crappie, largemouth bass, yellow bass, catfish, bluegill, and red ear sunfish.
Lodging includes cabins and campsites with water and electrical hookups. Premium campsite counts and improved campsite counts are listed by the park. Swag varies by distance and includes items such as a shirt, speed cup, waist belt pack, neck gaiters, and for the 100 mile entry a jacket as well. Awards consist of finisher medals for the 50K and 50 mile and a buckle for the 100 mile, with custom medals for the top three men and women on each distance. Race day foods include a variety of snacks and a finish meal with pulled pork sliders, pasta salad, and cake. Vegan options will be available. Registration closes on Wed Mar 4 at 11:59PM CT. Discounts are available using specified codes for military, donors, and first responders with proof requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
