About the race
The Downtown Christmas Run in Shreveport is a community 3.1 mile run/walk set on a three loop course that passes through and alongside large displays of Christmas lights, decorations, and music. The event offers separate Adult and Kids 5k entries and awards in overall and age group categories.

Registration fees vary by date: early registration through November 13 is $25, November 14–30 is $30, December 1–9 is $35, and race day registration is $40. Participants may reduce their fee by $5 by declining a race shirt at checkout. Packet pick-up is scheduled the week before and the day of the event, including weekday hours at Sportspectrum and additional pickup at the race site.
Awards for the Adult 5k include gift certificates of $100 and $75 for overall winners and runners-up, plus prizes for first and second in multiple age groups from 19-24 through 75+. Kids awards include $50 gift cards for overall winners and awards for first and second in age groups 9-under, 10-12, 13-15, and 16-18.
The event policy allows 100% refunds for cancellations made more than 30 days before the race, 50% refunds between 30 days and two weeks prior, and no refunds within two weeks of the race. Race entry transfers to another person are permitted with a $10 fee if completed at least two weeks before the event. No dogs are allowed on the course.
