Downtown Christmas Run
The Downtown Christmas Run is a seasonal running event held in Shreveport, Louisiana, organized as a Sportspectrum tradition in December 2026. The course is three loops totaling 3.1 miles and passes through and alongside tens of thousands of Christmas lights, seasonal decorations, and Christmas music.
Distances:
- Adult 5k: 3.1 miles
- Kids 5k: 3.1 miles
Registration fees vary by date. Early registration through November 14 is listed at $25. Race day registration is listed at $40. Participants may save $5 on their entry fee by choosing the option to decline a race shirt.
Packet pickup is scheduled in the days before the event at Sportspectrum and again on the event day at Sportspectrum and at the race site.
Prizes are awarded for overall and age group finishers. For the adult 5k, overall male and female winners and runners up receive Sportspectrum gift certificates of $100 and $75 respectively; age group winners and runners up receive special prizes in standard adult age brackets. For the kids 5k, overall male and female winners each receive a $50 Sportspectrum gift card, with awards also for first and second in the listed youth age groups.
No dogs are allowed on the course. Refunds and transfers follow the event policy: full refund for cancellations more than 30 days before the race, 50 percent refund for cancellations between 30 days and two weeks before the race, no refunds less than two weeks before the race, transfers to another person allowed at least two weeks prior with a $10 transfer fee, and the option to transfer entry to another SRM race in the same calendar year.
