The event is the 32nd annual Grand Island Half Marathon held on May 2, 2026, at Beaver Island State Park in Grand Island, NY. The race offers both in-person and virtual options and includes a Duo Division team half marathon. The organizer notes RaceJoy live tracking and free downloadable photos for participants. Every in-person finisher receives a commemorative shirt and medal; first-time half marathoners receive a medal with a distinct ribbon and a dedicated photo opportunity. Course, logistics, and awards
The course is flat and out-and-back along the Niagara River. More than 85% of the course is closed to traffic and there is no time limit to complete the race. There are six hydration stations on course and eight portable toilet stations plus additional facilities near the start/finish. Race gear and giveaways will be available at the finish area. Post-race amenities include awards, food, drinks, and music.
Awards are given to overall male and female winners, masters winners, overall 19 and under winners, and the top three finishers in each 5-year age division from 19 and under to 80+.
