The ThermoFisher Scientific Grand Island 1/2 Marathon
The ThermoFisher Scientific Grand Island 1/2 Marathon is the 32nd annual running of the event, held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Beaver Island State Park in Grand Island, New York. The race has been held since its inaugural event in April 1995.

Race features include RaceJoy live tracking for participants, free downloadable photos arranged by bib number, and commemorative shirts and medals for half marathon finishers. First-time half marathon finishers receive a medal with a distinct ribbon and a dedicated photo opportunity. A post-race party adjacent to the finish area offers awards, food, drinks, and music.
Logistics and course Chip timing is included for all in-person runners. The course is a flat out and back route along the Niagara River, with more than 85% of the route closed to traffic and no time limit to complete the race. There are six on-course hydration stations with volunteers handing out water and sports drinks, and eight portable toilet stations along the course plus additional facilities in the start and finish area.
Awards and records Awards are given to overall male and female winners, masters, 19 and under, and the top three in each five year age division through 80 plus. Entry fees are refunded for anyone who breaks a record in their division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
