Event Overview
The GBMC Father's Day 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk is an annual event held on Father's Day weekend in support of GBMC's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The event takes place on the GBMC campus in Towson, Maryland.
Beneficiary
The event supports GBMC's NICU, which is described as one of the largest in the area, caring for more than 400 babies annually. The NICU is nationally recognized for research in neonatal intensive care. In 2021, GBMC opened a Special Care Nursery as an extension of the NICU.
Distances and Schedule
Participants can choose from two in-person events and a virtual option:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Walk
- Virtual Participant
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the event at Charm City Run in Timonium, MD, and on race day at the GBMC South Chapman Building.
Location and Parking
The event is based at the GBMC South Chapman Building at 6701 North Charles Street in Towson, MD. Parking for the event is available in the Tulip Garage.
Registration
All events, including the virtual option, have a listed registration price of $35. In-person registration opens on race day at the GBMC South Chapman Building. A course map is referenced as available but subject to change. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
