Gator Tail 5k Trail Race - Lacombe, LA - October 17, 2026
The event is a set of community runs held at the Northshore Technical Community College campus in Lacombe, Louisiana. Distances offered include:
- 5K Trail Run
- 5K Trail Run Youth (ages 10-15)
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Gator Gallop (1/2 mile)
The course begins at the campus and follows trails and paths through a wooded area and around the southwest perimeter of the Tamanend development. Runners encounter gravel, dirt, grass, short pavement stretches, and a sandy field for the Gator Gallop. Trail conditions may be wet and muddy depending on recent weather. There are three water stations along the 5K route.
Packet pickup is at the Lacombe campus lobby in the first building. Pickup windows are Thursday October 15 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Friday October 16 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, or beginning on race day. Parking is available on Centerpoint Boulevard in front of the school and behind the building where race activities are located.
T shirts are expected for registrations completed before October 3, 2026; later registrations are not guaranteed a shirt but still receive a medal and other event items. All 5K entrants receive a participation medal and a t shirt, with prizes for first, second, and third place male and female. Gator Gallop participants receive a medal and t shirt and similar placings. 1 Mile Fun Run participants receive a t shirt. A virtual option is available that includes a mailed t shirt and participation medal; virtual times are not considered for competition.
