Gator Tail 5K Trail Race : Lacombe, LA
The event takes place on October 17, 2026 at Northshore Technical Community College, 65556 Centerpoint Blvd, Lacombe, LA. Multiple distances are offered:
- 5K
- 5K Trail Run Youth (10-15)
- 1 mile Fun Run
- Gator Gallop half mile
The trail courses run through wooded areas next to the campus and around the southwest perimeter of the Tamanend development. Runners encounter gravel, dirt, grassy paths and short stretches of pavement. Trail conditions can be wet and muddy after rain. The 5K course includes three water stations. Participants are encouraged to bring insect repellent, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle to reduce waste.
Packet pickup is at the Lacombe Campus in the first building lobby on the days before the race and on race day. Parking is available on Centerpoint Boulevard in front of the school and behind the building where race activities are located.
All 5K runners receive a participation medal and a Gator Tail 5K Trail Run t-shirt. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and in the Gator Gallop. All Gator Gallop runners receive a medal and t-shirt. All 1 mile Fun Run participants receive a t-shirt.
A virtual option is available; virtual entries receive a t-shirt and participation medal by mail, but virtual completion times are not ranked against in-person results.
