Gateway to the Cure Covered Bridge 5K
The Gateway to the Cure Covered Bridge 5K is an annual running event held in Thurmont, Maryland at 15 Eyler Road. The event uses a 5K loop course that organizers describe as challenging and interesting for experienced runners while also accommodating participants aiming to complete their first 5K. Walking and strollers are welcome.
Over the past ten years the Town of Thurmont has raised over $120,000 for the Patty Hurwitz Fund at FMH for breast cancer research. All money raised from this event will be donated to that fund.
Registrations open on 2026-01-18 at 11:00 and close on 2026-10-15 at 23:59. The listed registration fee is $35.00. Each registrant will receive a personally crafted pint glass featuring the Gateway to the Cure logo. Organizers provide food before and after the race.
