Gateway to Space
The Gateway to Space event offers 5K and 10K races. The course is held on the Space Florida Launch and Landing Facility, a historic runway at the Kennedy Space Center that was formerly known as the Shuttle Landing Facility.
The event benefits the American Cancer Society, supporting its mission to fund cancer research, provide patient support, and promote health equity. Participation is limited to U.S. citizens aged 12 or older, and no spectators are permitted. Registration includes a collectable finisher medal, and a commemorative shirt is available if ordered by a specified date. Fundraising is encouraged but not required; participants who raise over $250 can receive a full refund of their registration fee. Referral programs and fundraising rewards are also offered.
Packet pickup is scheduled in the days before the event at locations in Daytona Beach and Cape Canaveral. The event was postponed from an earlier date in March and is now scheduled for March 21, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
