Garrettstown 5 Mile 2027
Courcey AC stages a looped 5 mile road race in Garrettstown, Kinsale, County Cork. The course starts at Garrylucas and runs on back roads and main roads between Ballinspittle, Garrettstown and Garrylucas beach near the Old Head of Kinsale. The final mile passes Garrettstown beach with views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Participants must be at least 15 years old on race day. Entries are priced at €20 for a single race entry plus a booking fee, are non-refundable and non-transferrable, and event capacity is capped. Online ticket sales are scheduled between January 31, 2027 and April 9, 2027. Postage of race number and t-shirt is optional; number and t-shirt pickup is available the day before and the morning of the race.
The event is chip timed and is limited to running or jogging; walking is not permitted. Buggies and strollers are not allowed. Non-Athletics Ireland registered runners must purchase a One Day Licence for €2 as required by Athletics Ireland. The course was measured by an AIMS/World Athletics Grade A measurer and the event is intended to be run under an Athletics Ireland permit or licence.
Prize categories include men and ladies 1st to 5th, age categories U21, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80, and homegrown men and ladies 1st to 3rd. Post-race prize giving and refreshments will take place at Ballinspittle Community Hall. Course record times include Men 26:06 (2025) and Ladies 28:40 (2024).
