Garrettstown 5 Mile 2027
This is a looped 5 mile road race in Garrettstown, Kinsale, Cork, organised by Courcey AC. The course runs on back roads and main roads between Ballinspittle, Garrettstown and Garrylucas beach near the Old Head of Kinsale. The route includes a final mile that runs alongside the Atlantic Ocean past Garrettstown beach.
Participants must be at least 15 years old on race day. Entry is a single race fee of €20 plus a booking fee, non refundable and non transferrable. Event capacity is capped. The race is chip timed and designated as a running and jogging only event; walking is not permitted. Buggies and strollers are not allowed. The event is held under an Athletics Ireland permit or licence and the course has been measured by an AIMS/World Athletics Grade A measurer.
Prize categories include first to fifth places for men and ladies, age category awards for men and ladies in U21, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 groups, and homegrown men and ladies first to third. Course record times are listed for men 26:06 (2025) and ladies 28:40 (2024).
Details on number and tee shirt pickup and parking will be provided closer to the date. Postage of number and tee is optional and pickup is available the day before and the morning of the race. Post race prize giving and refreshments will take place at Ballinspittle Community Hall for all participants and stewards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
