Garrettstown 5 Mile 2026
Courcey AC stages a looped 5 mile road race in the Garrettstown area of Kinsale, County Cork. The event has an Athletics Ireland permit, cert. no 25/512, and the course was measured by an AIMS/World Athletics Grade A measurer.
The route uses back roads and main roads between Ballinspittle, Garrettstown and Garrylucas Beach near the Old Head of Kinsale. The final mile passes Garrettstown Beach with views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Entry rules and race format are specified: participants must be 15 years or older on race day. Single race entry is €20 plus a booking fee; entries are non refundable and non transferrable. Buggies and strollers are not permitted. Event capacity is capped. The race is chip timed and is a running or jogging only event; walking is not permitted. Non Athletics Ireland registered runners must purchase a One Day Licence during registration for a fee of €2.
Prizes are awarded to male and female overall finishers and across age categories including U21, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80, plus homegrown awards. Course record prizes are listed for men 26:06 and women 28:40. Post race prize giving and refreshments will take place at Ballinspittle Community Hall.
