Garfield Ridge Stars and Stripes 5K Run
Established in 2017, the Garfield Ridge Stars and Stripes 5K Run is an annual athletic event held in Chicago. Under the address of 5625 South Narragansett Ave, the event takes place in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood. The primary objective of the run is to honor first responders and support non-profit organizations that provide services to individuals affected by traumatic circumstances. Over the years, the event has supported organizations such as the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, the Wounded Warrior Project, the 100 Club of Chicago, and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The 2026 edition of the race honors Chicago Firefighter Andrew "Drew" Price, who served the Chicago Fire Department for 14 years. The event features two distinct categories for participants to participate in a 5K distance:
- 5K Adult: Open to participants between the ages of 18 and 99.
- 5K Youth: Open to younger participants between the ages of 1 and 17.
Timing and results are recorded for the participants, and a course map is provided for the 5K route. Registration fees for both categories are structured in tiers, with price increases occurring periodically as the event date approaches. Participants can also register as part of corporate teams or other groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
