Event overview
The Garden State 10 Miler & Cookie Chase 5k takes place on March 22, 2026, at Colonial Park, 156 Mettlers Road, Somerset, NJ. The event is organized as a fundraiser by the Garden State Track Club and the Franklin Township Police Department. Since 2017 the event has donated $35,000 to charitable causes and now provides need-based scholarships to graduating seniors at Franklin High School. Packet pickup is available Friday and Saturday at Road Runner Sports in North Brunswick. Register by March 1 to receive a race shirt and a personalized bib.
Race formats and awards
- 10 miles - Garden State 10 Miler; open to ages 16+.
- 5 km - Cookie Chase 5K.
- 1 mile - Youth Fun Run; open to ages 5-15.
- 10 miles + 5 km - Half Marathon Challenge (combined).
- Relay - 2-person 10 mile relay, first segment ~3.6 miles, second segment ~6.4 miles.
Prize money and awards include gift-card payouts for top finishers in the 10 Miler and 5K, age-group medals across standard ranges (19 & under through 70+), costume prizes for the 5K, and finisher medals or items for all finishers. Relay teams must register both participants individually. Pricing examples shown on the event page include the 5K, 10M, relay, challenge, a youth entry fee, and a combined event option; prices increase after December 27, 2025.
