Event Overview
The Garden State 10 Miler & Cookie Chase 5k takes place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Colonial Park, 156 Mettlers Road in Somerset, NJ. The event schedule includes the Cookie Chase 5k starting at 8:45 AM, the Garden State 10 Miler starting at 9:30 AM, and a Youth Fun Run at 11:00 AM.
Event Details
Multiple race distances are available:
- Cookie Chase 5k
- Garden State 10 Miler
- 10 Mile Relay for teams of two
- Half Marathon Challenge (10 miles + 5k)
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run for ages 5-15
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Road Runner Sports in North Brunswick, NJ. Registration opens on the event day at 7:00 AM.
Awards and Recognition
For the 10 Miler, prize money is offered for the top three male and female finishers ($150, $100, $75). Age group medals are awarded in categories from 19 & Under to 70+. All finishers receive a medal.
For the Cookie Chase 5k, the top male and female finishers win $100, and there is prize money for the top three costumes. All 5k finishers receive a cookie.
Finishers of the Half Marathon Challenge receive an extra "Challenge Accepted" medal.
Proceeds
The event is a collaborative fundraiser by the Garden State Track Club and the Franklin Township Police Department. It has donated $35,000 to charitable causes since 2017 and now provides need-based scholarships to graduating seniors at Franklin High School.
