Event information
The Garden State 10 Miler & Cookie Chase 5k takes place on March 22, 2026, at Colonial Park, 156 Mettlers Road, Somerset, NJ 08873. Packet pickup is available on the Friday and Saturday before the race at Road Runner Sports in North Brunswick, NJ. Registrations made by 11:59 PM on March 1 will receive a race shirt and a personalized bib. Registration prices increase after December 27, 2025. The race is organized as a fundraiser by the Garden State Track Club and the Franklin Township Police Department; since 2017 the event has donated $35,000 to charitable causes and now provides need-based scholarships to graduating seniors at Franklin High School.
Events and awards
- 10 mile - Garden State 10 Miler; open to ages 16 and older.
- 5k - Cookie Chase 5k.
- 10 mile relay - two-person relay, first leg ~3.6 miles, second leg ~6.4 miles.
- Half Marathon Challenge - combined entry for the 10M and 5k; open to ages 16 and older.
- 1 mile - Kids Fun Run; open to ages 5-15.
- Combo - 2026 Garden State 10M plus 2025 Empire State Half Marathon option.
The 10 Miler offers prize money for the top three men and women and age-group medals across multiple brackets; all 10M finishers receive a medal. The 5k awards top finishers and costume prizes and gives a cookie to every finisher. Relay participants must register individually and transition near Mettlers Lane and Colonial Drive. All youth fun run participants receive a bib and finisher's medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
