Garden State 10 Miler & Cookie Chase 5k
The Garden State 10 Miler & Cookie Chase 5k is a multi-event running day at Colonial Park, 156 Mettlers Road, Somerset, NJ on March 22, 2026. The event program includes a range of distances and formats held around the park.
Distances and event types:
- Cookie Chase 5K
- Garden State 10 Miler (open to ages 16 and up)
- 10 Mile Relay, two-person team with approximately 3.6 and 6.4 mile legs
- Half Marathon Challenge combining the 10M and 5K
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run for ages 5 to 15
- 2026 Garden State 10 Miler plus 2025 Empire State Half Marathon combo
Packet pickup is available at Road Runner Sports in North Brunswick on the days before the race. Register by March 1 to receive a race shirt and a personalized bib. Course maps are provided for the 5K and the 10 mile course. The relay transition is near the corner of Mettlers Lane and Colonial Drive.
Awards and finish items vary by event. The 10 mile race awards prize money to the top three male and female finishers and age group medals across standard age brackets; all 10 mile finishers receive a medal. The Cookie Chase 5K includes awards for top finishers, costume prizes, and all finishers receive a cookie. The Half Marathon Challenge finishers receive an additional "Challenge Accepted" medal.
The event is a collaborative fundraiser hosted by the Garden State Track Club and the Franklin Township Police Department. Since 2017 the event has donated $35,000 to charitable causes and now provides need based scholarships to graduating seniors at Franklin High School.
