Garden State 10 Miler and Cookie Chase 5k
The Garden State 10 Miler and Cookie Chase 5k takes place on March 21, 2027, at Colonial Park, 156 Mettlers Road, Somerset, NJ 08873. The event weekend includes packet pickup at Road Runner Sports in North Brunswick on the Friday and Saturday before the race.
Events include:
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run (ages 5 to 15)
- Cookie Chase 5K
- Garden State 10 Miler (open to ages 16 and older)
- 10 Mile Relay, two person team, first ~3.6 miles then 6.4 miles
- Half Marathon Challenge, combining the 10M and 5K
- 2026 Garden State 10 Miler plus 2026 Empire State Half Marathon entry option
Awards and participant items are provided for multiple events. The 10 Miler awards prize money of $150, $100, and $75 to the top three men and women and age group medals across many divisions; all 10 Miler finishers receive a medal. The Cookie Chase 5K offers prize money for top costumes and gives all finishers a cookie. The Half Marathon Challenge awards a "Challenge Accepted" medal in addition to the Garden State 10 medal. Youth Fun Run participants receive a race bib and finisher's medal.
The race is a collaborative fundraiser hosted by the Garden State Track Club and the Franklin Township Police Department. Since 2017 the event has donated $35,000 to charitable causes and now provides need based scholarships to graduating seniors at Franklin High School. Sponsors mentioned include Blue Sheep Bakeshop, Road Runner Sports, and Kessler PT. Free shirts are provided to the first 800 registrants.
