Gallatin Shamrock Run 10k
The Gallatin Shamrock Run is an annual athletic event held in the center of historic downtown Gallatin, Tennessee. The course begins at Gallatin City Hall and follows a primarily flat route through the city streets. This event features two distinct distances for participants:
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
The 10k course consists of two laps of the 5k route. Participants in the longer distance have a time limit of 90 minutes to complete the course, while the shorter distance must be finished within 60 minutes. Runners are grouped according to their estimated completion times.
Event logistics include specific parking areas located along Smith Street, as parking is prohibited on Main Street, Franklin Street, and North Water Avenue. Clear backpacks are the only type of bag permitted during the race. Participants who register by early February are guaranteed an event shirt.
The event includes several categories for recognition, including awards for male and female finishers. Additionally, there are presentations for the best St. Patrick's Day costume and the group with the most team spirit. Proceeds from the race are directed toward the Gallatin Chamber Foundation to support local initiatives and enhancement projects within the city.
