The Kiwanis Club of Galena will host the 7th annual Galena Kiwanis River Trail Run on April 18, 2026, in Galena, Illinois. The event takes place at Depot Park, 91 Bouthillier Street, Galena, IL 61036. Registration fees change by date: $35 (Nov 17–Dec 31, 2025), $40 (Jan 1–Feb 28, 2026), $45 (Mar 1–Apr 17, 2026) and $50 on the day of the race. Online registration closes April 16, 2026 at midnight. All registrations are final; there are no refunds. Participants must be registered by April 6 to guarantee a t-shirt.

Course and logistics
The course uses the Galena River Trail, an out-and-back route that begins at Depot Park near the old Galena Depot Railroad Station. Runners and walkers follow the trail south along the backwaters of the Mississippi River. The surface is crushed limestone with some asphalt sections. The course is primarily flat with a few rolling inclines. Strollers and dogs are not permitted on the racecourse.
Packet pick-up is available Friday, April 17, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, April 18, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at a tent under the bridge in Depot Park. Registered participants receive a shirt, bib number, and pins. Medals are awarded 1st–3rd in each age group and overall male and female; ribbons for non-medaling participants 12 and under. Refreshments are provided for participants at the finish. The races will be held rain or shine, with cancellation possible for dangerous conditions such as lightning or severe flooding.
