The Mines of Spain 100 is a trail race on October 16, 2026, in Dubuque, Iowa. The start and finish are at Louis Murphy Park in the Mines of Spain Recreation Area near 1700 South Grandview Ave. Two distance options are offered.

Course
The race uses a marked loop of about 20 miles that starts and finishes at Louis Murphy Park and spends most miles on dirt, grass and rock trails in the Mines of Spain Recreation Area. Each loop includes short stretches of pavement primarily at the beginning and end. The course passes views of the Mississippi River, goes around Horseshoe Bluff, and runs through grass prairies and hardwood forests. Trails vary from steep and technical to flat single track and rolling grassy sections. Elevation gain is approximately 2,800 ft per loop, totaling about 14,000 ft for the 100 mile and 8,400 ft for the 100k.
Entry, limits and policies
Registration opens January 1, 2026. Time limits are 33 hours for the 100 mile and 23 hours for the 100k. Runners may switch distances; switching up requires paying the difference and must be done by one month before race day. Partial refunds and deferrals are available by written request with specified deadlines; bib transfers are not allowed. The race may modify the course or cancel for safety or trail conditions; there is no refund in those cases. Photography will be provided and photos will be free to runners.
