Mines of Spain 100
The Mines of Spain 100 is a trail running event in Dubuque, IA, organized by Sun Trail Running and based at Louis Murphy Park. The event offers multiple looped distances that run primarily through the Mines of Spain Recreation Area and adjacent parkland.

The course follows a marked loop of about 20 miles that starts and finishes at Louis Murphy Park and spends most miles on an extensive network of dirt, grass and rock trails. Each loop includes short stretches of pavement near the loop connections. Runners pass viewpoints of the Mississippi River, traverse around Horseshoe Bluff, and move through prairie and hardwood forest habitats. Trail conditions vary from steep and technical to flat single track and rolling grassy sections.
Elevation is listed at approximately 2,800 feet per loop, totaling roughly 14,000 feet for the 100 mile and 8,400 feet for the 100 kilometer. Packet pickup and prerace gathering take place in the park in the days before the event; camping or runner setup is not allowed on the Thursday evening before race weekend.
The event maintains policies on registration, waitlists, refunds and deferrals, including deadlines and percentage-based deferral options.
