Mines of Spain 100 - Dubuque, IA
The event offers two looped trail distances based at Louis Murphy Park in Dubuque, Iowa. Both races run primarily in the Mines of Spain Recreation Area and use a marked course of approximately 20 miles per loop.
- 100 mile : 5 loops, roughly 14,000 ft total elevation gain
- 100K : 3 loops, roughly 8,400 ft total elevation gain
Each loop gains about 2,800 ft. The course travels on dirt, grass and rock trails with a few short paved connections. Terrain varies from steep and technical sections to flat single track and rolling grassy stretches. Runners encounter views of the Mississippi River, Horseshoe Bluff, prairie vistas and hardwood forests.
Packet pickup and a prerace gathering occur the day before the race and additional pickup is available on race morning at the start/finish area. The event maintains a public waitlist when capacity is reached and invites runners in waitlist order as spots open.
The organizer offers partial refunds and deferrals under stated deadlines, with certain deadlines for full or partial deferral and for refunds. Pregnancy deferral rules and nontransferable rollover credits apply. The race reserves the right to modify the course or cancel for safety or trail condition concerns; in such cases registration fees will not be refunded.
