Mind Over Matter Triathlon
The Mind Over Matter Triathlon is scheduled for June 6–7, 2026 at Coconut Cove RV Resort in Hazel Green, Wisconsin. The event is a USA Triathlon sanctioned race and a Midwest Collegiate Triathlon Conference race. It also serves as a fundraiser for brain cancer research, with funds directed to glioblastoma research at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Racing spans two days with a youth triathlon on Saturday and adult sprint distance events on Sunday. The sprint triathlon uses a lake swim at the resort, a multi-loop bike on quiet county roads in Grant County that includes hilly sections, and a rolling run that finishes on a lakeside path with an optional slip n slide at the finish area.
Distances for the sprint triathlon:
- Swim about 375 m (400 yds)
- Bike about 23 km (14.4 miles)
- Run about 5 km (3.1 miles)
Youth triathlon distances by age group:
- Ages 6-9 roughly 50 yd swim, 0.8 mile bike, 0.3 mile run
- Ages 10-12 roughly 100 yd swim, 1.6 mile bike, 0.6 mile run
- Ages 13-15 roughly 150 yd swim, 2.4 mile bike, 0.9 mile run
All finishers receive finish line food and drinks, a water bottle and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three in each division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
