Galax Autumn Days 5K Run
The Galax Autumn Days 5K Run takes place on October 17, 2026, in Felts' Park at 601 South Main Street, Galax, Virginia. The event features two distances and is organized as part of the autumn festival.
- 5K Run (3.1 miles)
- 1-Mile Kid's Race (children 12 and under)
Both races start and finish in Felts' Park. The 5K course is described as flat, follows Chestnut Creek, and includes about a half mile on the New River State Park.
Registration opens February 3, 2026. The 5K entry fee is $20 if postmarked by October 14, 2026, and $25 from October 15 through race day. Entry for the 5K includes a t-shirt. The 1-Mile Kid's Race is free and does not include a t-shirt.
Awards are given to overall winners and to first, second, and third place in each age group for both males and females. There are special awards for overall winners, bonus awards for breaking male and female overall and masters course records, and a single award for the top Super Master (age 60+). The event specifies no double-dipping between award categories; a higher award is applied where applicable.
Age groups span youth through seniors, including 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, then five-year adult bands through 80 & over. Course records are 14:40 (male, 2014) and 16:58 (female, 2008). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
