Galactic Trail Run
The Galactic Trail Run is scheduled for September 26, 2026 at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The event is organized by Vandenberg SFB Outdoor Recreation and is open to both base personnel and the general public. Active Duty members and Direct Dependents receive a discount at checkout. Non-base participants must present a REAL ID to enter the base; details about base pass pick-up will be provided closer to the event.
Distances offered include:
- 20 km trail distance
- 10 km trail distance
Packet pick-up is set for Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Parade Grounds. There is no same-day registration.
All finishers receive a medal. Other included items are a race t-shirt noted as TBD and a drink ticket. To guarantee a t-shirt, registration must be completed by September 6, 2026; registrations after that date may receive shirts only while supplies last. The course provides one aid station located at mile 3.
Registration deadlines are listed separately for the public and for base affiliated participants. Public registration closes September 17, 2026 and base affiliated registration closes September 23, 2026. The event maintains a strict no-refund policy except in the case of an official event cancellation, in which case full refunds will be issued to registered participants.
