About the race
The Gainsborough event stages road-closed running through the Lincolnshire countryside, with start and finish at Sturgate Airfield near Gainsborough. Both the half marathon and the 10K follow single lap routes on predominantly flat, quiet country roads that pass open farmland and village stretches. The course is clearly marked and staffed by marshals.
Entries include a themed finisher medal, free race photos, chip-timed results, post-race goodies and an informal bag drop in the event village. The event village provides toilets and food and drink options after the races. Water is provided on course at approximately every 5 km.
Minimum entry ages are 17 for the half marathon and 15 for the 10K. Race packs are posted to entrants in advance with later entries collecting on race day. Event organisers offer a RunThrough Foundation place option and the possibility to add an official event t-shirt at checkout. The event lists partners and sponsors and records results for national rankings.
