Run for Wildlife NIGHT 5k
The Run for Wildlife NIGHT 5k takes place on 10 January 2027 at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster. The event is a 5km timed run with a total capacity of 1,500 participants split across two waves of 750 people.
Ticket prices are listed at £24.00 to £26.00 and include entry to the park on the day of the event before the run. Park access with a race ticket begins at 09:45 and the park closes at 16:00 for race preparation, with last access at 14:00. A virtual entry option is available at £13.50 and includes the same medal and an option to add a t-shirt. Spectator passes are available to allow guests into the park before the event.
The route starts within the park grounds and finishes in the Hive. The course stays on main paths with an even surface and is arranged to showcase the park illuminations and night time animals. Runners are encouraged to wear neon clothing but torches are not permitted so animals are not disturbed. Due to the night layout of the course, buggies are not allowed.
Organisers set runners off in predicted time order within each wave and the event is chip timed; recorded time starts once a runner passes the finish line. The Wildlife Foundation is the event charity partner and profits from optional t-shirt sales support the foundation. Each Run for Wildlife event features an animal theme; the 2026 night event highlighted the Binturong, a primarily nocturnal mammal with a prehensile tail that is classed as Vulnerable in the wild.
