Gainesville High School Cardinal 5K Run/Walk
The 3rd Annual Cardinal 5K Run/Walk is sponsored by the Gainesville High School PTSO and takes place on the campus of Gainesville High School in Gainesville, VA. The event begins at the football field and uses a 5K course on school grounds. Timing is provided by an external race timer.
Registration fees vary by date and age: 18 and under: $20.00; Early Bird January 1 to February 28: $35.00; General March 1 to May 22: $40.00; Day of event: May 23: $50.00. Race bib and packet pickup will be available on race day.
All ages are welcome. Strollers are permitted and dogs are not allowed. Participants registered by May 3 are guaranteed a T shirt. The first 100 finishers receive a customized Cardinal Finisher Medal. Finishers also receive a free 12 ounce Kona Ice.
An award ceremony will follow the race and will present overall male and female awards plus overall awards in Youth, Adult, and Senior categories. Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Gainesville High School PTSO for future student and teacher incentives. There is a contest for most patriotic race gear with a Visa Gift Card prize.
