The 18th Annual FUCE 5K
The FUCE 5K is a community event held in downtown Metuchen, New Jersey. Hosted by the nonprofit organization It Takes A Borough (ITAB), the event supports local families impacted by tragedy. The race follows a multi-surface, certified 5K route that begins and ends on New Street, between Center Street and Pearl Street.
Participants can select from several ways to take part in the event:
- 5K Timed Run: An electronically timed race where participants receive a bib with a timing chip.
- 5K Fun Run/Walk: An untimed version of the 5K course for those not seeking official results.
- FUCE5K Virtual Option: A remote participation choice where runners can submit their own results.
- Family Supporter: A registration option for families that includes both timed and untimed entries.
The event features a variety of age brackets for rewards, spanning from age 4 to 70 and over. Awards include medals for the top overall male and female finishers, as well as first, second, and third-place medals for various age categories. For the youngest bracket (ages 4-8), candy medals are provided for the top three finishers. All registered participants receive a numbered bib, and those who register by May 15 are guaranteed a commemorative T-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
