The 18th Annual FUCE 5K
It Takes A Borough (ITAB) hosts the annual FUCE 5K Family Fun Run/Walk in downtown Metuchen, New Jersey at New Street between Center Street and Pearl Street, GPS 34 New Street, Metuchen NJ 08840. The event continues a tradition of supporting local families affected by tragedy and is organized by a nonprofit that relies on contributions and donations.
The event offers multiple participation options: an electronically timed 5K with a chip and recorded results, an untimed 5K fun run or walk with a numbered bib but no electronic timing, and a virtual 5K that can be completed independently with an option to report a time. A Family Supporter sponsorship covers registration for up to six members, includes guaranteed T shirts for registrations received by 11:59 PM on 5/15, and provides pre packaged pickup of race day materials. Weekend and same day registration is available with limited T shirt availability.
All participants receive a numbered bib. Awards include medals for top overall male and top overall female, first through third place medals in standard age brackets, and special first through third candy medals for the 4 to 8 age bracket. Age brackets are 4 to 8, 9 to 12, 13 to 17, 18 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
Registration fees listed by the organizer include $35 for standard entries, $300 for Family Supporter sponsorship, and $50 for weekend or same day registration. Registration opens 3/3/2026 and most regular entries close 5/17/2026; Family Supporter options close 6/19/2026 and same day registration opens 6/20/2026.
