18th Annual FUCE 5K
The FUCE 5K is organized by It Takes A Borough (ITAB) in downtown Metuchen at New Street between Center Street and Pearl Street. The event is scheduled for Father's Day, June 21, 2026. ITAB is a nonprofit that directs financial and tangible contributions to local families affected by tragedy.
The event offers multiple participation options for the 5K distance: an officially timed 5K with a bib that includes a timing chip and recorded results; an untimed Fun Run/Walk with a bib but no chip and no recorded results; and a virtual option that can be completed independently with an option to report a time. Family Supporter sponsorship is available for $300 and covers registration for up to six members, includes guaranteed T-shirts for registrations by May 15 and pre-packaged race material pickup, and allows individual family members to choose timed or untimed participation. Standard registration opens March 3, 2026, with a regular fee of $35. A weekend and same day registration option is available at a higher fee.
All participants receive a numbered race bib. Registrations received by May 15 will receive a T-shirt; registrations after that date are not guaranteed a T-shirt. Awards include medals for top overall male and female, candy medals for ages 4 to 8, and 1st through 3rd place medals across the listed age brackets from 9 to 70 and over.
