Frozen: H3
Frozen: H3 is an endurance event held in the Francis Marion National Forest, located near Charleston and Bethera, South Carolina. The course primarily utilizes the Jericho Horse Trail, which features a flat landscape consisting of dirt fire roads, single-track trail, and double-track trail. Due to the lack of elevation change, the terrain is described as unforgiving.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 25k
- Night 25k
- 10k
The event follows a looped format using combinations of 16-mile and 18-mile loops, while the 10k is an out-and-back route. The 100 Miler begins on a Friday, while the other distances start on Saturday, with the exception of the Night 25k.
Three fully stocked aid stations are positioned along the course, providing water, sports drinks, snacks, and hot food options during overnight hours. Pacers are permitted for the 50 Miler and 100 Miler starting at the halfway point. Participants running at night are required to carry a light source.
Finishers within the designated time limits receive a wooden medal, while 100-mile finishers receive a buckle. The event is part of the Swamp Series, which tracks cumulative mileage across three different races in the forest. Limited camping is available at the start/finish area, and the venue is accessible via Google Maps navigation to the Jericho Horse Trail parking area.
