Frozen: H3
Frozen: H3 is an ultrarunning event organized by Palmetto Ultras in Bethera, SC, held within the Francis Marion National Forest on the Jericho Horse Trail. The event uses looped courses composed of dirt fire roads, single track, and double track, with two loop options of roughly 16 and 18 miles depending on distance. The course is flat and will be marked; the trail also uses blue blazes and the organizer provides a downloadable course map.
There are three fully stocked aid stations: one at the start/finish and two on course. The main aid station offers snacks and hot food during the day including smash burger quesadillas; the two on-course stations carry typical ultra snacks and early morning or overnight hot options such as broth, ramen, and mashed potatoes. Porta potties are located at the start/finish and both aid stations. Runners must check in at each aid station and wear their bib visibly on the front of the body.
Pacers are permitted at the halfway mark for the 50 mile and 100 mile events. Runners may use drop bags at the start/finish or at their vehicle or tent; crew may meet runners at aid stations. Camping is allowed along the start/finish area next to vehicles though this is not an official campground.
