Frozen: H3 (January 8 to January 10, 2027)
Frozen: H3 is a multi-distance trail event organized by Palmetto Ultras in Bethera, South Carolina, inside the Francis Marion National Forest. The course uses the Jericho Horse Trail and consists of looped 16 and 18 mile sections plus an out-and-back 10k.
Distances offered:
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 25k
- Night 25k
- 10k
The 16 and 18 mile loops run on dirt fire roads, single track, and double track. The trail is described as flat with little elevation change. Loop counts for each event and course maps are provided in the runner guide. Pacers are allowed for the 50 mile and 100 mile events at the halfway mark.
There are three fully stocked aid stations: one at the start/finish and two out on course. The 10k is an out-and-back with no aid on course. Aid stations will include typical ultra snacks and early morning or overnight hot options. Porta potties are located at start/finish and at each aid station. Runners must check in at each aid station and wear their bib on the front.
Night running requires a light. Dogs are not allowed on the course during the race. The event is part of a Swamp Series that combines mileage across three races in the forest. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
