The Bright Ideas 5K takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The race is the fourth annual running of the event and uses a certified course at Cypress Gardens. Logistics
Packet pickup is available Friday at Fleet Feet's Carnes Crossroads location and on race day at Cypress Gardens. Parking at Cypress Gardens is limited; a shuttle will run to a remote lot at Celanese (formerly DuPont). The road into Cypress Gardens is part of the course and will close before the race and reopen after the last athlete has cleared it.
Purpose and beneficiaries
All proceeds benefit Berkeley Electric Cooperative's Bright Ideas Education Grant Program. The program provides grants of up to $1,500 to public and private K-12 teachers within Berkeley Electric Cooperative's service territory. The 2026 grant application period opens January 1, 2026, and grant winners will be recognized at the 5K awards ceremony.
