The Bright Ideas 5K is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The fourth annual event is a certified 5K run/walk held at Cypress Gardens. The course includes varied terrain and uses the road into Cypress Gardens as part of the route. All proceeds benefit Berkeley Electric Cooperative's Bright Ideas Education Grant Program, which offers K-12 public and private teachers in BEC's service territory grants up to $1,500. The application period for 2026 opens January 1, and grant winners are recognized at the 5K awards ceremony. Berkeley Electric Cooperative serves portions of Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties.

Parking at Cypress Gardens is limited; a shuttle to a remote lot at Celanese (formerly DuPont) will be provided. For safety, the road into Cypress Gardens will close at 7:45 a.m. and will reopen after the last athlete has cleared the road.
