The program supports innovative projects for public and private K-12 teachers within Berkeley Electric Cooperative's service territory, with grants of up to $1,500 per teacher each year. The 2027 grant application period opens January 1, 2027, and grant winners will be recognized at the 5K awards ceremony. Berkeley Electric Cooperative is described as South Carolina's largest not-for-profit electric provider and serves portions of Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties.
