Bright Ideas 5K
The Bright Ideas 5K is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Cypress Gardens in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. This is the fourth annual running of a certified 5K course that features varied terrain in the Lowcountry.
Packet pickup is available 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Fleet Feet Carnes Crossroads. Race day packet pickup is available at Cypress Gardens until 7:45 a.m. Parking at Cypress Gardens is limited; a shuttle to a remote lot at Celanese (formerly DuPont) will be provided. The road into Cypress Gardens is part of the course and will close at 7:45 a.m. for athlete safety, reopening after the last athlete has cleared the road.
All proceeds from the run/walk benefit Berkeley Electric Cooperative's Bright Ideas Education Grant Program, which supports innovative classroom projects not covered by traditional school funding. Public and private K12 teachers in Berkeley Electric Cooperative's service territory may apply for grants up to $1,500 each year. The application period for 2026 opens January 1. Grant winners will be recognized at the 5K awards ceremony. Berkeley Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit electric provider serving portions of Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties.
