Hell Hole Hundred

- 10k
The course uses two loop options of 16 mile and 18 mile loops, plus an out and back for the 10k. Trail surfaces include dirt fire roads and single track. The route is described as flat but run in hot and humid swamp conditions in June. The 10k has no aid stations on course so runners should carry needed fluids; many DNFs at this event are attributed to improper hydration and electrolyte management.
There are three fully stocked aid stations and a main aid area at the start and finish offering food and meals for runners and volunteers. Porta potties are provided at the start finish and at both aid stations. Runners are required to check in at each aid station. Pacers are allowed for the 50 and 100 mile distances at the halfway mark and one pacer bib is issued per runner.
Primitive camping is available from the night before until the event ends and has no water or electric hookups. Dogs are not allowed on course per the event insurance policy.
The event is part of a Swamp Series spanning three races. Awards include a custom buckle for 100 mile finishers, trophies for top three male and female finishers in each distance, and wooden medals for all finishers. No refunds are offered but bib transfers and a one year pregnancy or postpartum deferral are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
