Frosty Rock Challenge
The Frosty Rock Challenge is scheduled for November 7, 2026, with Fort Atkinson High School serving as the start and finish location in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The event offers three course options across local roads, parkland, and prairie areas.
The 12K is a mixed surface course that passes through an oak savannah, marshes and wetlands, and prairie. The route goes from the high school through Dorothy Carnes County Park and returns to the high school. The 12K course was modified in 2025 due to construction; the revised routing leaves the high school front entrance, wraps around the back of the school, goes up the hill to Hoard Road and then east to Banker Road.
The 5K follows neighborhood streets in Fort Atkinson and also starts and finishes at the high school. A one mile untimed walk or run is offered as an alternative for participants who prefer a shorter distance.
Distances:
- 12K - mixed course through oak savannah, marshes, wetlands, and prairie.
- 5K - neighborhood streets route starting and ending at Fort Atkinson High School.
- One mile - untimed walk or run alternative for those skipping the 5K.
Registration opens June 1, 2026. Registration fees listed are $25.00 for the 12K and $25.00 for the 5K; the one mile fun walk/run has no entry fee. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at Fort HealthCare Business Health Department, 210 Milwaukee Ave West, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538, and on race day at the high school.
Awards will be given overall and by age group for male and female finishers in the 5K and 12K. Age categories include 12 and under for the 5K only, then 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
