About the race
The Frosty Rock Challenge takes place in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, with the Fort Atkinson High School serving as the start and finish location on 11/07/2026. The event offers multiple short-distance running and walking options and uses local parks and neighborhood streets for its courses.
Distances offered:
- 12K: mixed trail, prairie and wetlands
- 5K: neighborhood streets, starts and ends at the high school
- 1 Mile: untimed fun walk/run
The 12K route passes through oak savannah, marshes, wetlands and prairie, and goes through Dorothy Carnes County Park. The 12K course was modified in 2025 due to construction; the revised route leaves the high school front entrance, wraps behind the school, climbs to Hoard Road and proceeds east to Banker Road before returning.
Packet pickup is available on race day and the Friday before the event at Fort HealthCare Business Health Department. Registration opens on 07/01/2026 and closes on 11/07/2026. Listed entry fees are $25 for the 12K and 5K, and free for the 1 Mile.
All racecourses will close at 11:00am. Awards are given for overall and age group placings for both the 5K and 12K, with specific age group categories and a 12 and under division only for the 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
