Frostbite Races : February 15, 2026
The Frostbite Races, presented by Hunter Subaru, offer three run options at the Lelia Patterson Center in Fletcher, North Carolina. Distances available:
- 10K - 6.2 miles
- 5K - 3.1 miles
- 1 Mile - fun run, untimed
Registration includes a race shirt (free until January 18; 10K long sleeve Dri-Fit, 5K and 1-mile short sleeve Bella Canvas thereafter for a fee) and a commemorative finisher medal. The event is chip timed using the MyLaps system. A virtual participation option is offered. Participants may choose to have their race bib and shirt shipped; the shipping option has a deadline of February 1. The 10K has cash prizes for the overall top three male and female finishers (1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50); winners must be present at the awards ceremony to accept prizes. Permit approvals are pending and the race date or course may change.
Course and on-site activities
All courses begin and end at the Lelia Patterson Center. The 10K and 5K routes provide views of Hutch Mountain and run over hilly terrain with moderate inclines. Net elevation gain is 464 ft for the 10K and 257 ft for the 5K. The one-mile fun run is flat. There are two water stations on the 10K and one on the 5K. Some roads remain open to traffic; children 12 and under on the 5K and 10K must be accompanied by a registered adult. A Family Fun Day and Wellness Expo will take place indoors at the Lelia Patterson Center on race day, featuring local vendors, wellness services, live music, and kid activities.
