Event
The Frostbite Races take place on February 15, 2026, at the Lelia Patterson Center in Fletcher, North Carolina. The event offers these distances:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1-Mile (un-timed fun run)
The event includes a virtual option. Shirt deadlines apply: free shirts are provided for registrations completed by January 18 (long sleeve for the 10K; short sleeve for 5K and 1-mile). There is an option to have bibs and shirts shipped before the race; the shipping purchase deadline is February 1.
Course
All courses start and finish at the Lelia Patterson Center. The 10K and 5K routes are hilly and provide views of Hutch Mountain and the surrounding area. Net elevation gains are 464 feet for the 10K and 257 feet for the 5K. The one-mile fun run is flat. There are two water stations on the 10K and one on the 5K. Some roads on the 5K and 10K remain open to traffic, so children 12 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Timing, awards and on-site activities
The event is professionally chip timed with timing chips on race bibs and timing mats on the course. All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Awards are given for overall and age group winners. The 10K awards cash prizes for the top three male and female overall finishers - $100, $75, and $50 respectively - with recipients required to be present at the awards ceremony. A Family Fun Day and Wellness Expo will be held indoors in the Lelia Patterson Center gym with local vendors, wellness services, snacks, and kids activities.
