Course, aid and logistics
Courses feature rolling hills that are mostly short or moderate in grade and include technical singletrack with rocks and roots. A short section runs on the Pipeline Trail, which is mostly groomed gravel and can become muddy. The Half Marathon is a loop run twice; the 5-mile course is one loop. The course forms a figure 8, with the primary aid station at the intersection of the 8. Runners pass that aid station twice per lap, so Half Marathon runners pass it four times and 5-mile runners twice. Aid stations supply water, electrolyte drink, and a variety of carbohydrate-rich or salty foods.
The start and finish are at the park main entrance on the west side, where a paved parking lot is available with no parking pass required. Street parking is available on the south side of E Main Dr; the north side is signed No Parking. Trails remain open to other park users during the event. Dogs are not allowed on the race course.
