USAA Frogman 5K Trail Run
The USAA Frogman 5K Trail Run is scheduled for March 20, 2027 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The event was created in 2012 to honor a fallen SEAL and to support combat wounded veterans and outdoor pursuits, including hunting. Jacksonville is home to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River.

The 5K Trail Run follows a wooded course across the property known as the "400-acres." The trail is described as predominantly flat and was created especially for this event. A two hour time limit is in place. Awards include medals for top overall male and female, top overall masters male and female, and first place in each age division; all finishers receive a finisher medal.
Proceeds benefit SE Outdoors and the Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission. Registration fees listed are $20 for the in-person 5K and $25 for the virtual 5K, with registration opening October 9, 2026; in-person registration closes November 15, 2026 and virtual registration closes March 20, 2027. T-shirts are available as an additional purchase during registration with an order deadline of February 11.
There is no parking at the event site for runners; participants must use shuttle parking. Dogs are not permitted unless they are service dogs. Strollers are not allowed except for Ainsley's Angels. Packet pickup is scheduled for March 19 at Fleet Feet Jacksonville with a second pickup location to be announced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
