Event overview
The Frog Hop 5K takes place on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens, GA (205 Old Commerce Road). The event includes a children’s 1-mile Fun Run/Walk and a 5K race. Course and logistics
The 5K is an out-and-back course along the Oconee River Greenway. It starts at Sandy Creek Nature Center, runs to College Ave, then returns to the finish line. The course is USATF certified (GA17023DJ). Race management and timing are provided by Classic Race Services. In case of storms, the start may be delayed in 15-minute increments; there are no refunds due to inclement weather.
Awards and extras
Awards are given to Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and in 5-year age groups from "10 and Under" through "80 and over." Children in the 1-mile event receive a medal and treats; fun runners receive a medal and a goodie bag. Registration fees are listed on the event page and increase after February 5, 2026.
