Frightening 5K - October 25, 2026
The event is a 5K held at the Vanderburgh 4-H Center in Darmstadt, IN (201 E. Boonville-New Harmony Rd.). The course uses roads throughout the fairgrounds and includes several portions with crushed gravel. The start and finish are located behind the banquet hall; attendees should use the main entrance and drive back toward the banquet hall for access.
Registration fees are tiered: $30 until August 15, $35 until October 12, and $40 until race day. There is a $5 deduction for a medal only option. Group discounts are available for four or more participants; all sales are final and shirts are not guaranteed after race day unless prior arrangements are made.
Race shirts are Tultex soft cotton in unisex sizing and are guaranteed for registrations completed by October 10; a limited number of extras may be available afterward. Di-cast finisher medals are awarded to all who finish the 5K.
Early shirt and bib pick up and late registration are available at Ultimate Fit on October 23 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, and on race day from 10:15 to 10:45 am at the 4-H Center. Official timing is provided by To the Finish Timing. The event proceeds rain or shine and may be delayed if threatening weather is present.
A costume competition will be held with gift card prizes for best male costume, best female costume, and best group costume. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
