Friends of the Poor Walk at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church
The Friends of the Poor Walk is a community fundraising event on September 26, 2026, hosted at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 12041 Bittern Hollow, Austin, TX 78758. It is organized to benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and to raise funds to assist people requesting financial help for needs such as rent, utilities, reduced work hours, illness, or unexpected expenses. This is the eighth annual edition of the walk.
The event offers two participation options:
- 1 mile in person route via Gracywoods Neighborhood Park.
- Virtual walk at a time and place of participant choice.
The in-person route begins at the church, proceeds to Gracywoods Neighborhood Park, and returns along the trail to the campus. After the walk there will be breakfast, fellowship and door prize drawings. T-shirts are available to order through August 31. Registration is free; registration opens June 5, 2026 and closes September 27, 2026.
