About the race
The Friedberg JCC 5K Run/Walk 2027 is a community 5-kilometer run and walk held in Baldwin Park, Baldwin, New York. The event is associated with the Friedberg JCC and its Parkinson's programs. The JCC offers exercise and supportive programs for people with Parkinson's, including boxing and Tai Chi classes, lectures, and support groups for diagnosed individuals and caregivers. Registration is not yet open; a notification option is offered for when registration becomes available.
Race-day amenities include T-shirts for early registrants, swag bags, and fruit and water. Personalized race numbers require registration at least three weeks before the event. Bib pickup is available in person with a Self Lookup option for those who do not know their bib number, and virtual entries may receive bibs by mail with a shipping window that ranges from one week before to one week after the event. The course is a flat, certified loop entirely within Baldwin Park.
An awards ceremony takes place at the finish line after the race. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 11 and under, 12 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Live online, email, and text results are provided, along with free video and same-day finish line photos. Proceeds support the JCC Parkinson's programs.
