Fresh Legs XC Open & Fun Run
Fresh Legs XC Open & Fun Run takes place at the LCU Cross Country course, 2611 Frankford Ave, Lubbock, TX 79407. The course has hosted the Big 12 Championship and NCAA regional events.
Distances offered:
- 3 miles - open to ages 12 and older.
- 1 mile (Open) - all ages and ability levels.
- 1 mile (Elementary) - for children 11 and under only.
The 3 mile event awards medals to the top three overall male and female finishers and top three in several age groups: 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The 1 mile open awards medals to the top three overall male and female finishers. The 1 mile elementary race awards medals to the top three overall male and female finishers and in age groups 7 and under, 8-9, and 10-11.
Registration opens on July 7, 2026 and continues until race morning. There is no limit on participants. Bib pick-up location is to be determined and bibs will also be available on race morning for chip timing if registration is completed before race day morning. Entry fees listed are $25 for the 3 mile, $15 for the 1 mile open, and $10 for the 1 mile elementary.
Course notes: the 3 mile begins with the green loop around the lake followed by the remaining two miles on the mapped course. The 1 mile course is one loop around the lake starting next to the finish arch.
One hundred percent of proceeds support the Lubbock Area Elementary Running program, which runs free elementary events during the school year and is open to families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
