Freezin' for a Reason 5K - Dawsonville
The Freezin' for a Reason 5K is a fundraising running event held at Rock Creek Park, 445 Martin Rd., Dawsonville, GA 30534. Proceeds support the Dawson County High School Student Government Association. The event offers an in-person 5K, a student 5K category, and a Virtual 5K option.
Registration opens January 14, 2027 and closes February 13, 2027. Standard registration fees are $30 for the in-person 5K and the Virtual 5K, and $20 for the student category. The student category is for participants 18 years and under and requires a student ID at check in.
Results include awards for the top three male and top three female finishers in standard five-year age groups, beginning at 10 and under and continuing through 75 and older. The Virtual 5K allows participants to complete the distance remotely; event items will be mailed to virtual participants.
The course takes place within Rock Creek Park and finishes on site. The event is organized to raise funds for student leadership and initiatives at Dawson County High School and to provide in-person and remote participation options for a range of runners and walkers.
