Freeze Your Half Off takes place on January 9, 2027 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, near 4301 Amnicola Highway along the Tennessee River. The event includes multiple race distances and combo series options that combine this race with other Awesomesauce Events races.

The course is mostly flat with some small inclines and declines on a paved path that runs by the Tennessee River, behind the campus of Chattanooga State, and to the Chickamauga Dam. Restrooms in heated buildings have flushing toilets, running water, and soap. Participants pass the start/finish/aid station area multiple times and may leave a drop bag for repeated access. The aid station provides Gatorade, water, Gu, fruit, candy, cookies, chips, pickles and pickle juice, and other items.
The event is presented as a low key, non competitive group run focused on camaraderie rather than racing others. It is welcoming to slower runners, walkers, and first timers. The course is USATF sanctioned but not certified for Boston qualification; distances are measured accurately. Races are timed and results are posted online but the event does not use chip timing to the millisecond. There is a five hour time limit for all distances. Packet pickup is on Saturday morning only, from 8am to 9am. Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes August 31, 2026. Registration fees are final, non refundable, and non transferable.
