Five Trails Ultra & Three Trails Half
The event is based at Westerlands in Graffham, West Sussex and uses trails at the foot of the South Downs. There are two race options:
- 50 km Five Trails Ultra linking five long distance trails into one loop
- 13 miles Three Trails Half following three long distance trails and countryside tracks
The Five Trails Ultra combines the Serpent Trail, New Lipchis Way, West Sussex Literary Trail, Monarchs Way and sections of the South Downs Way into a loop that passes woodland, heath and open downland. The Three Trails Half starts on the Serpent Trail, follows the New Lipchis Way and runs along the South Downs Way before returning to Graffham on countryside tracks.
Aid stations are provided at 6.5, 12, 18 and 25 miles for the Ultra, and at 6.5 miles for the Half. The Ultra has a 10 hour cut-off; the Half has an overall time limit of 5 hours. The route is fully signed and supported and is timed electronically by SportIdent. Event medical cover and a sweeper runner are provided. A wooden eco-medal is given to finishers.
Participation requires a mandatory kit list. Entries are online only, close when capacity is reached, and cannot be made on the day. Minimum age is 18 and dogs are not permitted. T shirts are available at an additional charge and a tree planting option is offered for an extra fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
