Alf Shrubb Memorial - 10k & 5k
The Alf Shrubb Memorial returns to Slinfold as a fundraiser for local community causes. The event offers adult races and two children’s races, with event HQ and the main race finish at Slinfold Cricket Club. Adult races are chip timed and are planned as mixed trail courses that pass through West Sussex countryside. The organisers expect both distances to be busy, reporting that entries doubled in 2025, the 10k reached capacity that year, and the inaugural 5k previously attracted more than 100 runners.

Distances:
- 10k
- 5k
The 10k uses two slightly different laps of local footpaths, bridleways and trails, finishing at the cricket club. The 5k is a single loop on the same course and is planned to start on the cricket field. Children’s races and number collection will take place at Slinfold Cricket Club, where a professionally led warm up is planned before moving participants to the 10k start on Clapgate Lane. The adult start may be led by the local fire brigade if circumstances permit. Refreshments will include tea, coffee, soft drinks, cakes and a fully licensed bar. All adult race finishers receive a medal; there will also be individual age-group awards and prizes for top male and female Slinfold residents. Free parking will be available with details issued before the event. Profits will be shared across local Slinfold village causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
